We're here to help you thrive
“Knowing what steps to take to get ahead in life can be confusing. At The Care Center, we’ll help you put a plan into action that will help you remove the barriers and build the resources that you need to thrive in life. We’ll even surround you with a team and resources so you have what you need to be successful.”
THE NEED
The reality is that poverty is growing locally in our suburban neighborhoods right here in Cincinnati.
-
Poverty is growing 8x faster in suburban vs. urban areas of our city.
-
The poverty rate has grown 100% in the Loveland and Milford communities in the last 10 years and now over 50% of children in the Goshen school system are on free and reduced lunch.
-
75% of under-resources families are headed by single moms.
-
Families are living in constant crisis as they struggle with resources like employment, transportation, life development resources and a network for support.
For the past 15 years the Care Center has been assisting families by helping them remove the barriers and build the resources needed to thrive in life.
In 2020 The Care Center built a dedicated facility on the Northstar Church campus creating even more opportunities to build relationships that lead to real life change. With this expansion we are able to:
Provide a holistic set of life development resources, in partnership with current and new organizations, under one roof. The new and existing partners include organizations like Cincinnati Works, Great Oaks, Roots Staffing, The Eve Center, Tried and True Parenting, MomsHope, Wheels, Deaconess Mobile Health and Life Forward.
Host more services. This addition includes a computer lab, workshop rooms, one-on-one counseling spaces, equipped workspace for partners, a space for one-on-one community care interviews, and a lobby that will be open throughout the week with free coffee and wi-fi.
OUR WORK
It’s our vision to provide relief that leads to relationships that produces real life change and we exist to help our guests remove the barriers and build the resources needed to thrive in life.
As we accomplish this we are compelled to empower people in practical ways as we provide CARE:
Community: We believe that lives – those of our guests as well as of our service providers and volunteers – will be profoundly changed through relationships built through The Care Center.
Assistance: Integrated services that are physically co-located will allow for holistic care for our guests in the areas of physical, educational, emotional, relational and spiritual health.
Resources: Our primary goal is to offer resources that promote life change, which we will monitor and track for the purposes of continually improving our services to break the cycle of poverty.
Encouragement: Backed by highly qualified staff, trained volunteers will have the opportunity to provide encouragement and support life change for our guests.
For the WHOLE person: We strive for the health of the whole person by helping people build physical, emotional, educational, relational and spiritual resources. We do this by helping people get back to work, build the basic life skills we all need to be successful, and break the cycle of poverty through one-on-one mentoring and coaching relationships.
